Description of the panel

Conveners aim to discuss fundamental research methods, ideas and perspectives of the Arabic philology in the Russian Federation and abroad, to introduce results of research and practical activities of the Russian and foreign Universities and to present innovative methodological and didactic materials, teaching textbook and manuals by participants.    

The round table includes the following objects for a discussion:

-         studying phonetics, grammar and vocabulary of Arabic

-         actual problems of the Arabic literature

-         methodological approach to teaching Arabic and the Arabic culture in the Globalizing World

-         modern methods and new technologies in research and education in Arabic studies.

Participant are invited to discuss the following issues:

-         structural and typological comparative studies in Russian and Arabic linguistics

-         typological and other specific features of the Classical Arabic language and Arabic dialects

-         transformational processes in vocabulary and grammar of Arabic

-         comparative Semitic studies

-         language policies in the Arabic countries, fixing and codification of the Classical Arabic language.

-         Arabic and Globalization: use traits and its prospects

-         cultural traditions in the Arabic literature

-         genre peculiarity in the Arabic prose and poetry

-         educational technology and methods in teaching Arabic

-         cultural dialogue in teaching Arabic (culture-oriented linguistics, social and other aspects)

-         intensive and extensive methodologies in teaching Arabic and Arabic culture.

The round table is organized to promote learning foreign experience, development of cooperation between the Russian universities and research centers and international cooperation in research and education.
