The panel aims to summarize modern critical views on the Islamic philosophy. The discussion focuses on the Classic Muslim philosophy and modern philosophic and social thought of the Muslim East.

 

The first discussion trend includes:

-         methodological approach to studies on the Classic Islamic philosophy

-         stereotypes and patterns in perception of the Classic Islamic philosophy

-         textual studies and interpretation

-         Islamic doxography 

 

The second discussion trend includes:

-         tradition and modernity

-         a human and a society in Islam

-         modern Shi‘ite philosophy

-         historical destinies of the Reformatory movement
