Description of the panel

The language is one of the most important instruments of  politics and politicians. The language of politics is an instrument which serves the interests of various political  groups and different political goals and intentions, has the impact on political events and produces political effect.

 The language of politics (also regarded by many scientists as political discourse) includes wide range of resources and several aspects of  study such as:

a)      linguistic aspect (lexical, stylistic, semantic, neological etc.)

b)      sociolinguistic aspect (for instance, the aspect of the language of power: ideological, sociological, axiological, metaphors and rhetoric).

The politics of  language deals with the policy towards the language in various states including such aspects as:

a)      official language in government, education and law

b)      language conflicts

c)      script conflicts

d)      language influence on the power

e)      the language of politics as a political issue

f)        national language police in globalizing world.

All above-mentioned aspects form the wide field of research of  Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Urdu, Dari, Pashto and other languages of Middle East and South Asia as well as the politics of language in the Muslim countries.
