Theology and philosophical system of al-Ghazali by Maythem M. al-Janabi

There is a wide diversity of views and approches to the personality and intellectual work of al-Ghazali. This book is an abridged version (about one tenth) of the Arabic text whic was published in Syria in 1998 in four volumes.

The aim of this work is to provide a coherent and objective undestanding personal, intellectual and spiritual developmnet of al-Ghazali and thus the transformation of his doctrine and its concepts from theological, mystical and philosophical perspectives.

The author analyzes both the quantity and quality of transformations of his thinking, orientation, speculation about the major issues of the time and considers of al-Ghazali's system as a mystical synthesis of theology and philosophy. He shows that this accumulation and integration of the synthesis corresponds the same stages of his intellecual and spiritual evolution.
