“125 ILLUSTRATIONS ON TUQAY” EXHIBITIONOn April 25, 2011 the exhibition “125 illustrations on Tuqay ” opened in the “Khazineh” National Art Gallery in Kazan. The exhibition was held by the State Museum of Fine Art of the Republic of Tatarstan and Nail Latfullin Museum of the Modern Art of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Mardjani Foundation. It featured 125 artwork pieces investigating Tuqay’s poetry by recognized artists and art students from Moscow, Kazan, Saint-Petersburg, Ufa, Naberejnye Chelny; each participant choosing one lyrical piece without a repeating title. Among the names of artists displayed are Svetlana Ibragimova, Riwkat Karimullin, Mikhail Kuznetsov, Zinnur Minnahmetov, Zifah Muhammetzyanova, Ramin Nafiqov, Maryam Sadretdinova, Faridah Hasyanova, Grigory Eidinov, Oleg Yahnin and others.
Off the beaten line was a series of 13 handicraft books, each of 30 * 30 cm, with hand-made drawings and texts by artists from Ufa and Naberejnye Chelny. The author of the idea was Salavat Gilyazetdinov, who invited Ayrat Teregulov, Anvar Kashaev, Midat Muhamedov, Khamzah Sharipov, Flyur Ismagilov, Mishar Felderi, Gleb Golubev, Iskander Muhametzyanov and Vasil Hannanov as a curator to join the him on this action. Despite of highly individual working style artists have, this series turned out integral and very personal.
