Exhibition "Time to gather figs" opens in Moscow

The “Inzhir” Gallery which has become a significant place for those who are interested and fond of Islamic art, culture and history, invites you to attend an exhibition called “Time to gather figs”. It will last from 1^st to 22^nd October 2011.

 

Harvest of figs is a time to gather fruits of working, fruits of art and fruits from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil which was deemed by some tradition as a fig tree. The exhibition title as well as the Gallery name have symbolic meanings. It is through fruits of working, art and music, science etc. we comprehend the beauty of the world which surrounds us. Artists and scientists of the past have created a magic garden for us, and everyone could find here his own fruit of figs and, by tasting its sweetness, to look at the world  through different eyes.

 

Here at the exhibition you can find creations of masters and artists from Azerbaijan, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Iran, Syria, Tatarstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and many other Islamic countries, and to feel an atmosphere of organic connection between History and Modernity.
