International Scientific Conference “Islamic text and Arabic graphical tradition” was held in Bakhchisarai

The International Scientific Conference “Islamic text and Arabic graphical tradition” was held in Bakhchisarai Cultural and Historic Preserve in the historical building Zincirli medrese on 20 – 22 September, 2011. The conference brought together chief experts in the fields of Muslim epigraphy, Oriental and Islamic studies from Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Latvia.

 

During the work of the Conference on 21 September an exposition called “Tatar Shamail from the collection of the Mardjani Foundation” was open for visitors. Director of scientific programs of the Mardjani Foundation Igor Alexeev provided an improvised tour called “Shama’il as a memorial of religious and domestic culture of the Volga region Muslims”.
