Red, art and utopia in the land of Soviets

The Grand Palais pays homage to Soviet art. For this exhibition, major works have been loaned from major Russian museums and the Centre Pompidou. With the October Revolution in 1917, Russian society was completely turned upside-down and a new generation of artists emerged. This exhibition recounts the history of this new art movement and its tensions, momentum and its surprising developments, a reflection on art and politics. This promises to be a high point of the Grand Palais' 2019 programme.
